15 Day Northern Spain, Portugal France, September 2017

This is our third trip with Gate 1. Just when we think our tour could not be better we are presently surprised. The tour director Carmen was amazing, bus driver Oscar outstanding, accommodations, trip itinerary, destinations, all first rate. Gate 1 is the tour group of our choice. Never disappoints and always exceeds expectations.

11 Day Crown of Spain , September 2017

As a first time Gate 1 traveler I am extremely satisfied with the entire trip. There were 49 wonderful people in our group. I was the only solo traveler but had no trouble fitting in immediately. Our guide, Daniel, was simply the best guide ever! He called us Family and treated us as such. The local tour guides were terrific. Truthfully, I’ve never had a better art museum tour than the one at the Prada. I can’t remember his name but he was so passionate about explaining the art work. He did the same at the castle. Our group was exceptionally cooperative and considerate of each other - never a late person! We set up an e mail list that I volunteered to type up and we’ve already shared pic. I’ve already recommended Gate 1 to my friends.

8 Day Art Cities of Spain, August 2017

11 Day Crown of Spain , August 2017

My recent trip to Spain through Gate 1 was phenomenal! I would highly recommend (and already have) Gate 1 Travel to others. Victor, our tour manager, was excellent. He was patient and helpful, and he really went above and beyond to make sure our experiences in Spain were authentic and ran smoothly. The accommodations were great, and the bus was very comfortable. All of our local guides were very knowledgeable and polite. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I will definitely be traveling with Gate 1 again in the future.

11 Day Crown of Spain , August 2017

11 Day Crown of Spain , July 2017

My niece and I had a great experience travelling across Spain. We were able to take in the beauty, architecture and culture. Lots of pictures and memories created. The group was very diverse and the ranges in age made it even more interesting. New relationships were forged and hopefully maintained into the future.

11 Day Crown of Spain , June 2017

It was amazing! Why didn't anyone tell us years ago how awesome Spain is? What an incredible country! We had a great time! Gained a couple of pounds from the paella (yum!); made new friends (going out with them tonight); and saw one of the most beautiful countries in the world! Our tour manager was wonderful, our guides were interesting and knowledgeable, and we had a good balance of together time and free time.

10 Day Classic Portugal , May 2017

Our trip was great! Gate 1 provided first class service! Our tour guide Odete was organized, accommodating and extended the finest Portuguese hospitality. Our driver, Helder, was courteous and provided comfort and safety while we were on the bus. We enjoyed the people, the food, the sights and every excursion we included on our trip. Thank you Gate 1 Travel!

10 Day Classic Portugal , May 2017

My trip to Portugal was excellent. Everything went smoothly from the flights, the weather and everything included in this tour. Our tour guide Odete was excellent. She was kind, friendly and so informative. She also has a great sense of humor....had us laughing every day. I also must give credit to Helder our driver, he also was very kind and friendly. He was a competent driver and made sure we were all safe. As always, I was completely satisfied with another Gate 1 tour. Thank you Gate 1 once again!

15 Day Northern Spain, Portugal France, May 2017

The trip was great! I've done several Gate 1 escorted tours, and loved (almost) every Tour Manager, but Lisa was stellar! She really went above and beyond her duties. Every evening that we arrived at a new town, she was eager to take the group on a walking orientation tour that wasn't on our itinerary but was greatly appreciated. She is a jewel. I'm already looking forward to my next Gate 1 tour, even though it's not until November. :)

11 Day Crown of Spain , April 2017

We had a wonderful tour and definitely will be returning to Gate 1 in the future. Luis was an excellent tour leader--very organized, personable and a delight to be around. The guides at each site were also very good. Especially Jose??? who took us through the Prado museum in Madrid; his passion for the art was effusive. Our driver Juan was very good, always had the bus under control and was very skilled at negotiating narrow ramps and streets. The hotel selections were also very good, putting us near the most active city areas for good walking access. The provided meals were excellent. The itinerary was a bit rushed at times but I think that it had to be to cover seven cities in nine days on the ground.

8 Day Art Cities of Spain, April 2017

It was great!! We were very happy with the accommodations. The hotels were roomy, clean and in excellent locations. Lisa, the escort, was nice, sweet, knowledgeable and went out of her way to make everyone comfortable. Thank you Gate 1 team for a great trip to Spain!

11 Day Crown of Spain , April 2017

Our trip to Spain was magnificent. This was our first trip with Gate 1 but it will not be our last! Our tour manager, Josep, was wonderful. He made the trip so exciting by his humor, knowledge, kindness and generosity of spirit. We love Spain.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.!!! Have already recommended Gate 1 to several friends. Our tour manager, Lisa was extremely gracious . Every tour guide we encountered was knowledgeable enthusiastic. In fact my husbands' eyes rolled in the back of his head when he heard we were going to the PRADO. But Jose dissected the paintings to the point that my husband came out of there with an enlightenment about art.

12 Day Classic Spain Portugal , October 2016

Out trip was wonderful. We saw and experienced so much thanks to our Gate 1 tour guide Caesar. Everyday was planned so that we wouldn't miss a thing worth seeing in Spain and Portugal. The only thing we had to worry about each day was getting to the bus on time and being ready to go. Gate 1's tours allow you to feel safe yet adventurous. We really appreciated the knowledge and experience of the local tour guides. We can't say enough about Caesar. He's was so nice, knowledgeable and worked so hard each day to make our trip the best.

15 Day Classic Spain Portugal , October 2016

The trip was a very good one, the first I've taken with Gate 1. I was pleased to spend so much time learning about the culture, artwork, architecture and history of Portugal, Spain, Morocco and Gibraltar. I initially was concerned with the large group but the guide, Felipe, was very adept at handling a group of that size. Truthfully, our final days spent in Barcelona with the smaller group was a highlight, be it because of the maneuverability of the city or the city itself. Felipe was actually able to find another Gate 1 group to accommodate some of us so we could attend our final optional tour to the Montsarrat Monastery. The lunch venues he stopped at on our travels between cities were always a very pleasant surprise. The dinners he hosted for your company were absolutely wonderful, particularly the last one where we were all able to sit around one table and talk like friends and 'family' members. It was a wonderful ending to a marvelous 2 weeks.

7 Day Classic Spain Portugal, October 2016

My trip to Madrid and Lisbon was spectacular for the short period of time we were there. I learned so much about the history and religion of Spain. The cathedrals were breath taking. The museum in Spain the art was so amazing. Lisbon is very colorful and I loved the cobble stone. We went on the Santa Justa Lift and the view of Lisbon was out of this world . This is my second trip with Gate 1 and I can't wait to book more trips.

Nice long range attitude. Trump is just a bump in the road and we will repair our relationship. China may take longer but ours will be fine in a much shorter time frame. - rone81

Both Donald Trump and Peter Navarro accused Justin Trudeau of dealing with them in bad faith after the G7 meeting. The accusation of bad faith left a lot of Canadians wondering and scratching their heads, since Mr Trudeau hadn’t said anything at or after the conference that he hadn’t said publicly many times before. But the accusation does make sense if the US perceives its relationship with Canada as something akin to the relationship between a lord and a vassal, rather than between two allies, to say nothing of two partners. Under the feudal system that predominated in Europe until it gradually gave way to more modern times, it would definitely have been a breach of faith or of the duty of loyalty for a vassal to publicly, or even privately, disagree with his lord. Mr Trump’s post-conference tweet seemed to indicate he expected “meek and mild” behaviour from Mr Trudeau. That’s what you expect from a vassal, not a partner. Ms Craft’s honeyed words notwithstanding, it would seem that what the US expects from Canada is fealty, not loyalty, not an equitable friendship, and not partnership. If the US is trying to correct a historical global trade imbalance with developing countries, then wouldn’t Canada be stronger as an ally than a victim? - wilfdirk

How much do the Ontario Liberals have to apologize for? By Adam Radwanski

The Liberals’ basic flaw was assuming that spending more money on a problem was the same as dealing with the problem. They show profound disrespect for taxpayers. - William Lyon Mackenzie1

In the end we will miss the Liberals, even if they strayed too far left and threw money not imagination at the problems of the province. The answer to every question posed to civil servants is more money….A few years on the sidelines and these simple but hard truths will reset. A new leader will see that the solution is not always in more programs and staff. In the meantime, Ford will, by hook or by crook, remind us why, as a civil society, his kind of populism is not the right answer for our great province. - GIP Main

I get that the Liberals meant well, truly. Or at least they did at the start. That said, I think that they fell afoul of the current trend which is that the majority of people want the majority of government effort focused on issues that affect - wait for it - the majority. Green energy initiatives, apologies, polygenderism policies and the rest are all significant, but they simply do not draw enough water to merit the amount of effort placed on them. - Rovenbird
